Upcoming Events
FRIDAY, MAY 8: Shabbat Service
6:30pm ZOOM ONLY!
On this Zoom-only Shabbat, feel free to join us from your own garden, as we light candles and give blessings to our seedlings, and new growth in our lives.
SATURDAY, MAY 9: Torah Study
10:00-11:30 ZOOM ONLY
With our double Torah portion Behar and Bechukotai, we come to the end of the book of Leviticus. “Proclaim liberty throughout the lands and to all its inhabitants!” we are told, ushering in a year of Jubilee and peace. But if you reject God’s wisdom, your “skies will be like iron.” Hard words, but food for thought as we end with the traditional “Hazak! Hazak! Be strong be strengthened.”
FRIDAY MAY 22: SHABBAT SHAVUOT!
6:30pm Potluck, 7:30pm Service
In Person/Live and on Zoom
We celebrate this very special Shabbat Shavuot with a traditional dairy potluck* (with blintzes of course) and a reading of the Ten Commandments as we stand once again at Sinai.
*Please bring dairy, fish, or vegetarian options to share
SATURDAY MAY 23: Torah Study
9:45am BAGELS, LOX AND BLINTZES
10:00am Torah Study
In Person/Live and on Zoom
On this Shabbat Shavuot, we will once again read of the Exodus from Egypt, and join with our ancestors who stood quaking at the foot of Mount Sinai. How can we open our hearts to connect to this moment, when our souls stood with all the souls of Israel? What did they hear? What do we hear today?
SATURDAY MAY 23: Special Event
YIZKOR 12:00 PM
Four times in the year Jews are commanded to say kaddish for those we have lost, and one of them is SHAVUOT!
This year, as Shavuot falls on Shabbat, we invite everyone (even if you were not at Torah study) to come and honor those who have passed. There will be a special honoring of Nancy Harris and Paul Duboff, who passed away recently without a formal service. May their memory be a blessing.
(same as Torah Study, if you’re already on)
