10:00-11:30ish TORAH STUDY-Endings and Beginnings
As is traditional, we will read the last portion V’Zot Ha’Bracha before beginning the cycle over again with a study of the first two chapters of Bereshit (Genesis) As this Shabbat falls on Shemini Atzeret, the last day of Sukkot, we will discuss the mystical power of this day to bring about the union between God and the Jewish people.
Sunday 10/4 - Simchat Torah and October 7th Memorial at the TJC
3:00-5:00 PM at the TJC
Let’s dance with the Torah! As the final holiday of our High Holiday cycle, we will hold the torah and circle the room in JOY as we read the first lines of Genesis and enter a new cycle of ancient teachings for our times.
Three years ago, we had a wild and wonderful celebration at the TJC, and then returned home only to hear the devastating news of the slaughter of October 7th. We will light memorial candles, say kaddish, and remember that horrific day, with prayers for peace in Israel, still torn apart by the consequences of that day.
Please bring kids, friends and neighbor
