Eretz Shalom Cemetery - Taos County, New Mexico
Please join us on Sunday, May 18th at 3 pm at the TJC for an important community conversation about Eretz Shalom Cemetery, the only stand-alone Jewish cemetery in New Mexico.
Some recent changes are inspiring this meeting: Started and administered by B’nai Shalom Havurah in 1993. Recently, the Board of B’nai Shalom asked the Taos Jewish Center to take over ownership of the cemetery. We have completed the legal transfer of this ownership, with the generous assistance of attorney Abby Sanger.
We are inviting all members of the Greater Jewish Community to a meeting to discuss this change of ownership and the new policies and procedures of the operation of Eretz Shalom Cemetery. We will cover the history of the cemetery, administration, burials, and Chevre Kadisha.
Please, everyone, join us to hear about the upcoming changes, ask questions, see how you can get involved, and discuss this most essential part of our Jewish community in Taos.
We hope to see you on Sunday, May 18th at 3 pm, at the Taos Jewish Center, for wine and cheese and a stimulating conversation about the future of our cemetery.
If you have questions or want more information, call Bruce Grossman at 575-741-0888 or Roberta Lerman at 575-770-6838.
We look forward to seeing you there.
